John Cecil Maggs never knew the legacy his life would leave behind — but today, his name represents compassion, action, and change.
John experienced homelessness on the streets of Worcester in the 1970s and early 1980s. He faced isolation, hardship, and a lack of support that no one should have to endure.
When he died in 1984, it became a turning point. His story brought people together and sparked a determination across the community to ensure that others would not be left without help.
That determination became Maggs.
Today, we provide the kind of support that was not available to John — but the need has not gone away.
