On 10th October, people across the globe will mark World Homeless Day — a chance to raise awareness of homelessness and highlight the work being done to support those without a safe place to call home.
Here in Worcestershire, over 700 individuals accessed Maggs’ services last year. Behind every number is a person facing unimaginable challenges — whether that’s sleeping rough, sofa-surfing, or trapped in unsafe housing. World Homeless Day reminds us that homelessness is not just about lacking a roof, but about the loss of safety, dignity, and opportunity.
At Maggs, we’re proud to provide daily essentials through our Day Centres, alongside advocacy, healthcare access, and pathways into stability. But we couldn’t do it without our community standing alongside us.
That’s why this year, World Homeless Day falls on the same evening as our Maggs Big Charity Quiz Night — bringing people together not only for a fun evening, but also to raise vital funds to keep our services running. Every ticket sold and every round sponsored helps us rewrite the story for people experiencing homelessness locally.
On this important day, we ask you to pause and reflect, but also to take action. Whether that’s donating, volunteering, or joining us at the quiz, your support helps ensure no one in Worcestershire is left without hope.
