Over the course of 2025, the Worcester Ukulele Club has gone above and beyond after naming Maggs their Charity of the Year and raising an extraordinary £14,000 to support people experiencing homelessness across Worcestershire.

From lively performances to creative fundraising events, the Club’s year of support has been nothing short of remarkable, and a brilliant example of how community, music, and generosity can come together to create real change.

Of the total amount raised, £1,250 was generously contributed by the Malvern Ukulele Club, whose members also rallied behind the cause and helped boost the overall fundraising total.

A Year Filled with Music, Fundraising, and Community Spirit

Throughout the year, the Worcester Ukulele Club (affectionately known by many as the Wuccies) organised and took part in a wide range of fundraising activities in support of Maggs.

Highlights included:

  • Multiple live gigs and musical performances, bringing people together through joyful, inclusive music

  • A fantastic charity quiz night, complete with refreshments, a raffle, and plenty of ukulele-led entertainment

  • Ongoing collections and awareness-raising at events across the city

  • Their final fundraising gig of the year on 27th December, which alone raised an impressive £345

Each event not only raised vital funds, but also helped shine a light on homelessness in Worcester by sparking conversations, building understanding, and strengthening community connections.

More Than Fundraising — True Champions of Maggs

What has made the Worcester Ukulele Club’s support so special is not just the total amount raised, but the spirit in which it was given.

Their unwavering enthusiasm, warmth, and commitment throughout the year made them true champions of Maggs. Time and again, they showed up with instruments in hand, ready to give their energy, creativity, and kindness — and it never went unnoticed by our team or the wider community.

The funds raised will help Maggs continue providing hot food, warm clothing, safe spaces, outreach, and practical support to people facing homelessness across the county.
