Care in our Community
While we were preparing for our Malvern Day Centre to be temporarily closed for refurbishment, we knew that the transition would be challenging for many of the people who rely on us each day. Access to a warm meal, a safe space, and trusted support is vital, and for many, it can be the most stabilising part of their routine.
Thanks to the kindness of a local business, that support never stopped.
We would like to extend our deepest and most sincere thanks to Rachel and the wonderful team at London House Cafe (Sam, Kerry, and Stacey) for opening their doors to our service users during this period of change.
The café has been a welcoming, steady, and compassionate space for our service users to enjoy breakfast, meet with our staff, and continue to access essential support while our centre underwent improvements.
Their generosity ensured that:
- No one went without a warm meal
- Service users still had a safe, friendly place to go
- Our Harm Reduction and frontline teams could continue their work uninterrupted
- People felt seen, valued, and cared for during a time of uncertainty
What may seem like a simple offering has meant so much more. For people facing homelessness, the smallest comforts can carry extraordinary significance. A friendly greeting, a hot drink, a familiar face… these moments help rebuild confidence and remind people that they are not alone.
Rachel and her team stepped in without hesitation, showing not only generosity but a genuine commitment to the wellbeing of some of the most vulnerable members of our community. Their kindness reflects the very best of Malvern — a community that stands together and supports one another.
To the London House Cafe Team
On behalf of everyone at Maggs, thank you.
Your compassion has made a real, lasting difference, and it will not be forgotten.
If you’re visiting Malvern Link anytime in the future, be sure to show the London House Cafe some love!
