As we celebrate 40 years of Maggs Day Centre, we’re inviting our community to step up and walk with purpose for those facing homelessness across Worcestershire.

To mark this special milestone, we’re launching a fundraising walk challenge between our Worcester and Malvern Day Centres — a symbolic route that mirrors the journey many of the people we support must navigate every day.

Walk the Route. Share the Journey.

Starting at our Worcester Day Centre on Deansway and ending at our Malvern Day Centre on Newton Road, this route is more than a walk. It’s a way to show solidarity, raise awareness, and help fund the vital services that have supported vulnerable people in our community for four decades.

You can walk it solo, take it on as a team-building challenge, or turn it into a family fundraising event. Whether you choose to do the full distance in one go, or split it across a few days — the pace and approach are completely up to you.

📍 The Route

  • Start: Worcester Day Centre, St Albans, Deansway, Worcester WR1 2JD
  • Finish: Malvern Day Centre, 62 Newton Road, WR14
  • Distance: 12 miles
  • Pace: Walk it, run it, or break it into manageable sections

Why Walk for Maggs?

Every step you take will help us continue delivering:

  • Hot meals, clothing, and hygiene essentials
  • Housing and benefits support
  • Mental health referrals and one-to-one care
  • Opportunities for growth, dignity, and community reconnection

💬 A word from us…

“This walk is more than a fundraiser — it’s a chance to reflect on the distance so many of the people we support have travelled, often in the face of huge personal challenges. We’ve been here for 40 years, and with the support of our community, we’ll continue walking alongside people for as long as we’re needed. Every mile, every conversation, every donation makes a difference.”
— Melissa Blewitt, our Fundraising, Communications and Relationships Manager

With no statutory funding for our Worcester Day Centre, community fundraising is vital to keeping our doors open and our services available to those who need them most.
