Each year, Volunteers’ Week gives us a special opportunity to recognise and celebrate the incredible people who give their time, skills and compassion to support others. At Maggs, this week holds particular importance, as volunteers are at the heart of everything we do.
How Our Volunteers Support Us
Across our services, volunteers play a vital role in supporting people experiencing homelessness and those who are vulnerably housed. Whether it’s cooking breakfast at our Day Centres, sorting through donations at our Clothing Project, or just being a friendly face, their contribution is felt every single day.
But beyond any practical support they provide, our volunteers bring kindness and empathy. They help create welcoming, safe spaces where people feel valued, listened to and respected. For many of the individuals we support, these moments of human connection can make a lasting difference.
A Truly Rewarding Experience
Volunteering is not just about giving time; it’s about building relationships and strengthening communities. Our volunteers come from all walks of life, each bringing their own experiences and perspectives, united by a shared commitment to supporting others. Their dedication helps us continue delivering compassionate, person-centred care across Worcestershire.
We also recognise that volunteering can be a two-way experience. Many of our volunteers tell us how their time with Maggs has helped them build confidence, develop new skills, and feel more connected to their local community. It’s a reminder that when we come together to support one another, everyone benefits.
Thank You
During Volunteers’ Week, we want to take a moment to say a heartfelt thank you to every single person who volunteers with Maggs. Your generosity, dedication and compassion do not go unnoticed, and we are so grateful for everything you do.
As we celebrate this week, we’re proud to shine a spotlight on the impact our volunteers make — not just over these seven days, but all year round.
Thank you for being such an essential part of the Maggs community.
