Alongside Maggs, St Paul’s Hostel and Worcester Warriors Foundation are coming together to host a big sleepout for the fifth year to raise money for our charities.

For the first time, the sleepout will occur at Worcestershire County Cricket Club on Friday, 13th October, and aims to raise £25,000 to be split between the three charities to help continue our fantastic services.

Mel Kirk, our very own Chief Executive explains: “The Maggs team are delighted to be a part of the Big Sleep Out again this year. Not only do we get to work with some other fantastic, local charities, but we get to raise awareness on homelessness and the issues they endure whilst sleeping rough, but also what we as a charity do to support the individuals.”

The event aims to help change perceptions, change lives, and raise awareness of the complex issues surrounding homelessness within the county and the services each charity relentlessly pushes forward.

The event also has the support of other local organisations such as AC Events, and The Rapid Relief Team who will be providing the catering on the night.

Jonathan Sutton, Chief Executive of St Paul’s Hostel, confirms: “The Big Worcester Sleep Out is a simple way that everyone can help and also understand why people end up on the streets. We urge the public to please do your bit either by supporting someone or registering yourself to take part.”

Previous attendees have included local and international business leaders, the city mayor, local councillors, Worcester Warriors players, local bishops, charities’ clients, individuals and volunteers who want to help those in need and do more.

The event operates via a ticket system at £15 per person for the first time since inception.
