At Maggs, we know that achieving lasting change is never something we do alone.

Behind every successful charity is a community of people who generously share their time, expertise and belief in the organisation’s mission. Sometimes those contributions are financial. Sometimes they come in the form of practical support, professional knowledge or simply being willing to stand alongside a charity during an important moment in its journey.

As we continue building on the strong foundations of our recent leadership transition, we wanted to take a moment to recognise one of those people.

Supporting an Important Chapter for Maggs

Recruiting a new Chief Executive was one of the most significant decisions our Board of Trustees has made in recent years.

Finding the right leader to guide Maggs into its next chapter required a robust, thoughtful and professional recruitment process.

Throughout that process, Neil Cox, Partner at Rise Above Consulting, generously provided his executive search expertise on a completely pro bono basis.

Neil worked closely with our Board of Trustees, offering guidance, challenge and professional insight that helped shape a strong recruitment process and ultimately supported the appointment of our new Chief Executive, Jon Perry.

His contribution was invaluable, and we are incredibly grateful for the time, knowledge and commitment he invested in Maggs.

The Value of Professional Expertise

Professional skills have enormous value.

When people choose to share those skills with charities, the impact extends far beyond the immediate piece of work.

Neil’s generosity meant Maggs could focus more of our charitable resources on what matters most—supporting people experiencing homelessness and severe hardship across Worcestershire—while still benefiting from high-quality executive recruitment expertise.

It is a reminder that giving isn’t always financial.

Sometimes the greatest gift is the willingness to share experience, knowledge and professional skills to help charities become stronger and more sustainable.

Stronger Through Partnership

At Maggs, we believe that partnerships are about much more than funding.

They are built on shared values, trust and a collective commitment to creating positive change.

Neil’s support demonstrated exactly what those partnerships can achieve, and we are delighted that he has expressed an interest in continuing to support Maggs in the future.

We know that the challenges facing people experiencing homelessness cannot be solved by any one organisation alone. They require charities, businesses, public services and communities to work together.

Every partnership helps strengthen our ability to provide hope, practical support and opportunities for people to move forward.

Thank You

On behalf of our Board of Trustees, staff, volunteers and everyone connected with Maggs, we would like to extend our sincere thanks to Neil Cox and the team at Rise Above Consulting.

Your professionalism, generosity and belief in our mission have helped shape an important moment in our organisation’s journey.

We are incredibly grateful for your support and look forward to continuing our relationship in the years ahead.
