As the warmer months arrive, life becomes even more challenging for people experiencing homelessness or housing instability in Worcestershire. At Maggs, we’re committed to providing practical support to help our service users stay safe, healthy, and comfortable throughout the summer.
That’s why we’ve put together a Summer Essentials Bundle—a ready-made package containing the key items our community needs to cope with the heat and sun.
What’s in the Summer Essentials Bundle?
Each bundle includes carefully selected essentials to help protect and support those we assist:
- Reusable water bottles to stay hydrated on the move
- Sun cream (new and unopened) to protect delicate skin
- Baseball or sun hats to offer shade and reduce heat exposure
- Wet wipes for hygiene
- Lip balm with SPF for lip protection
- Light cotton socks for comfort
- Squash or juice to provide refreshing hydration
Why These Items Matter
While we often associate donations with winter, summer essentials are just as important. Access to clean clothing, sun protection, and safe hydration can make a world of difference—helping people maintain their dignity and wellbeing even in tough circumstances.
How You Can Help
With just a few clicks, you can send a Summer Essentials Bundle directly to us through our Give Today page and make a real impact in someone’s life this season.
If you prefer to donate items directly, we welcome summer clothing and accessories such as lightweight t-shirts, shorts, sun hats, and bottled water. Donations can be dropped off at our Clothing Project at 59/60 The Tything, Worcester WR1 1JT during opening hours, or at our out-of-hours bin on Britannia Road in our car park. We also have a collection point at The Belmont Care Home, John Comyn Drive, Worcester WR3 7NS.
If you want to organise a collection at your school, workplace, or community group, please get in touch. We’re always happy to help coordinate.
