Over 160 people from cross the local community, business and charities gathered for The Big Worcester Quiz last week, testing their general knowledge and cryptic deciphering abilities, raising over £1000!
Following the success of the pilot event in 2023, the quiz took place at Henry Sandon Hall with a brain boggling 10-round quiz, designed by St Paul’s Hostel Trustee, Debbie Morris.
For 2024, the quiz was kindly sponsored by The Bransford Trust who provided the venue, with a range of raffle prizes on offer kindly donated by local businesses – GoodRoots, Museum of Royal Worcester, Bransford Community Farm, So Aesthetics, M&M Meats Worcester, Harvey & Brockless & Hopmarket Trophies.
Melissa, our Fundraising, Communications and Relationships Manager, explains: “We would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who attended, and how fantastic to see the event sold out. It was amazing to see how much support the local community and business support the three charities have to helping to tackle homelessness throughout Worcestershire.
We are hugely grateful to everyone who attended, and a big thank you to those who donated raffle prizes to help boost our fantastic grand total. We hope to see everyone at the Big Worcester Sleep Out event next year and bring further attention to the complex issues surrounding homelessness across our county”.
The event kickstarts the fundraising efforts for The Big Worcester Sleep Out taking place next April, which raises funds for not only us but St Paul’s Hostel & The Worcester Warriors Foundation, who combine efforts to support those experiencing homelessness in Worcestershire.
The next Big Worcester Sleep Out event will take place on Friday 11th April 2025, and encourages supporters of the 3 charities both old and new to join forces by sleeping out under the stars, in the grounds of Henry Sandon Hall; all with the aim of driving awareness of homelessness, and raising vital funds for Worcester’s most vulnerable.
Details on how to register for The Big Worcester Sleep Out will be released in the coming weeks. To keep up to date with the latest announcements, please visit: worcestersleepout.co.uk.
