For the last four years, the generous team at Shelsley Walsh Speed Hill Climb supports Maggs and this year, the team have very kindly arranged a collection during their harvest festival meeting event of our most needed items for our front-line services.
The collection included roll mats, sleeping bags, food, men’s clothes, rucksacks and holdall bags, plus much more.
Sarah Browne, Operations Manager at Shelsley Walsh Hill Climb, confirms: “At Shelsley Walsh Hill Climb, we have a nominated charity at our events and as our last meeting was called ‘Harvest Festival’.”
“We chose Maggs as our charity so that as well as encouraging donations financially, attendees could bring donations be that food or much-needed clothes etc. We have been overwhelmed by support from our attendees including drivers and volunteers so a huge thank you to all.”
Since opening in 2003, our Clothing Project has aided our service users at whatever part of their journey. Whether this be a first-time use for a rough sleeper looking for bedding and clothing to survive the night or someone who has gained housing, we support our service users through every segment of their re-entry to society.
Our Clothing Project welcomed 1477 people alone in 2023 and offers anything from sleeping bags, roll mats and pillows to kitchen appliances, toiletries and food to those accessing our services or referred to us via local partnering agencies.
Melissa, our Fundraising, Communications and Relationships Manager, explains: “We’re extremely grateful to the team at Shelsley Walsh for their continuous support of Maggs over the last few years. Not only the team but the entire club are exceptionally generous and the collection they’ve gathered will make a huge difference to those in need. We’ve recently run out or are incredibly low on stock of some vital items so this will make a significant difference. Thank you all so much and hope to continue working with you in the future.”
