We’re incredibly grateful to the Pershore Plum Plodders for their outstanding support of Maggs through their Plod Into Christmas Challenge, raising vital funds and awareness during the festive season.
Throughout December, members of the Pershore Plum Plodders took on an Advent-style challenge with a powerful purpose: to support people experiencing homelessness and housing insecurity across Worcestershire.
Plodding with Purpose
From 1st to 24th December, participants committed to walking or running at least one mile every day, with donations of 5p for every kilometre completed. What started as a daily challenge quickly became a collective effort full of determination, generosity and community spirit.
By the end of the challenge, the Plodders had covered an incredible 11,600 kilometres, raising over £1,500 for Maggs. This remarkable achievement reflects not only physical commitment, but a genuine desire to support people facing some of the toughest circumstances in our community.
An Extra Gift of Support
We were also delighted to recently welcome Steve, Andy and Fiona from the Pershore Plum Plodders to our Clothing Project, where they kindly presented an additional donation.
This extra contribution will help us continue providing essential items through our Clothing Project, which acts as a lifeline for people who are rough sleeping or vulnerably housed.
Making a Real Difference
Funds raised through challenges like Plod Into Christmas help Maggs continue delivering vital services, including our Day Centres, Outreach work and Clothing Project. These services provide warmth, dignity, practical support and a safe, welcoming space for people who need it most.
Support like this allows us to respond to immediate needs while continuing to work alongside people towards longer-term stability and hope.
Thank You, Pershore Plum Plodders
To everyone who took part, donated, encouraged and cheered others on: thank you. The Pershore Plum Plodders’ commitment, energy and generosity have made a real and lasting impact.
You truly went the extra mile for Maggs, and we are so grateful for your continued support!
