Our first ever city festival to raise funds for Maggs is in the final planning stages!

Chewie, one of our Support Worker explains: “A series of fundraisers are taking place in the build-up to the first festival of its kind in the city.

The 45-year-old said: “We’re currently in negotiation with Worcester City Council to hold MAGGStock 2024 in Cripplegate Park in Worcester and should have some official news in the next few weeks.”

“From venues to churches, bandstands and parks, we have lots of plans in the pipeline to make every event an awesome experience for all, to allow us to raise funds and awareness for what we are representing; Maggs, the Worcester-based charity that supports the homeless and vulnerable throughout the county.”

The aim of the events, taking place over the next 16 months, is to help fund our festival in aid of Maggs in June next year – Maggstock.

The first fundraiser is going to be at the Sociable Beer Company in Worcester on Saturday, March 18 at 6pm, featuring Teresa Myatt, Kaitlyn Elverson, Clare Portman, Los Neibourinos and Funky Junky Monkeys.

After that, there is ‘a laid-back Sunday afternoon event’ on April 9 at the Morgan in Malvern from 3pm until 8pm with Cory’s Angels, Zoe Devenish, Jay Clark, Krescendo and the Hill’s Angels.

A further event is planned for the Bear and Wolf in Kidderminster on Saturday, April 29 from 2pm until 11pm.

This features performances from Chewie, Chloe Mogg, The Ruben Seabright Trio, Ramani and Alice, Emma Howett, Drifta, Paul Beadle, Half A Clown and David Onions.

A further event is planned at Kidderminster on Friday, July 21 at 45 Live with Chewie, Wood Burnt Red, Hipflask Virgins and Chevy Chase Stole My Wife. The event starts at 7pm.

CCSMW graciously gave up their booked gig at the Sociable Beer Company to allow us a venue for our first event. Thank you for your support!
