Mappfest, a music festival in Malvern raised thousands for Maggs Day Centre and Headway Worcestershire.

The popular event returned to Malvern Link Common last month with two days of live music and family entertainment, despite previous concerns it may have to be cancelled due to rising costs.

Since then, volunteers have been busy counting up the donations and have now presented the two chosen charities with cheques for £1,500 each.

Mappfest secretary Julie-Anne Goode said: “Mappfest had the pleasure of donating £1,500 each to Maggs Day Centre and to Headway Worcestershire.

“It has been a fantastic event and it was such a wonderful feeling being able to donate money to these charities when we were so unsure if the festival would go ahead.”

Melissa Blewitt, our Marketing and Relations Manager, added: “On behalf of the team at Maggs, we would like to say a massive thank you to Andy and the Mappfest team for choosing Maggs to be their charity of choice this year.

“This amazing donation will help us continue supporting our homeless and vulnerable service users through our two-day centres in Worcester and Malvern, the clothing project, and the accommodation project to receive individually tailored support.

“The opportunity to spread the Maggs name out there has been fantastic and we thank everybody for showing support to our cause.”
