This bank holiday, we have been extremely grateful to have welcomed food donations from local businesses to help provide a special one-off lunch for our service users.

The aim, alongside our current breakfast offering, was to serve a hot meal, with a pudding and snacks to take away if they wish due to the generous donations.

Melissa Blewitt, Marketing and Relations Manager at Maggs, explains: “On behalf of the team at Maggs, we want to thank the teams at Brookes Catering, The Granary Coffee Shop and Scotch Collins for their generosity. We have been overwhelmed by the support we’ve received from local businesses and the wider community to provide a special lunch to our service users, and it is the small things like this that means so much to our service users, especially on a day when a lot of their usual services are shut.”

Sadly, we’re seeing more rough sleepers in areas throughout Worcestershire throughout the summer months and have seen a vast increase in demand for not only food but clothing and essential items such as rucksacks, toiletries and more from our clothing project.

“As a company, we believe it is important to help out in the community and support people in these difficult times”, explains Grahame Brookes from Brookes Catering. “We recognise the hard work that Maggs does and want to do our bit to help their service users and do something nice to show that there is a community out there that wants to help them.”
