The Maggs team hosted our first ever sporting tournament fundraiser on Sunday (8th Oct) at MSJ Sports Centre and raised a total of £813.23.
Over 100 people within 15 teams took part on the day and boasted a cake stand, a raffle and face paint stalls, all donated by members of the community and local businesses.
Melissa, our Marketing Manager explains: “On behalf of the team at Maggs, we would like to say a massive thank you to everyone who took part in the Maggs tournament on Sunday! From umpires to players, the team at MSJ Sports Centre, Jade Jordan Photography and all of the local businesses who donated towards our raffle prizes, the whole day was fantastic, and we’re so grateful to have raised £813.23.
We were very lucky to have a number local businesses that kindly donated prizes included Bakes by Gee, Handmade by Amy, Croome Court, Mount Pleasant Hotel and many more.
The winner on the day was Offsprings, part of the netball club Malvern Springs, with a mixture of original players and their junior team.
“The money raised will be going towards Maggs to help us continue our services, whether this be to continue food and support for our service users in our day centres or our countywide outreach teams”, continues Melissa. “We have had great feedback from all the teams, and we’re grateful to everyone for getting involved and being so generous. We would love to do something similar again next year, so watch this space!”
Following on from all of the fantastic feedback we have received, we will be hosting our first ever Sports Festival next year in June 2024. If you would like more information on how you can get involved, please contact us at marketing@maggsdaycentre.co.uk.
