Last week, our Corporate Partners, Hudson Kapel got in touch about two full vans of clothing that they wanted to donate to our Clothing Project and wow, just look at the results!
Our Clothing Project is vital to anyone in need. Whether someone is rough sleeping and needs the basics to survive such as a sleeping bag, pillows, bedding and toiletries or someone who has recently moved into temporary or permanant accommodation and hasn’t got any household items to function in a day-to-day routine. Therefore we offer anything from microwaves, toasters, kettles to cushions, curtains and sheets to make it more of a home and help those get the confidence to get back on their feet.
Stephanie Maton, our Volunteer Coordinator explains: “We’re so lucky to work with the team at Hudson Kapel, who have not only donating a huge amount of great and well-needed items to our Clothing Project, but they also donate their time every month to help sort donations, sort through sizes and stock the shop with the most vital items. The team always come in with a smile, enthusisam and get very much stuck in but are also extremely supportive with our cause and aim to help in anyway they can. Thank you team for your ongoing support!”
Our Clothing Project welcomed over 1300 individuals last year and helps anyone from rough sleepers and asylum seekers, to people who have left prison, vulnerable adults, to name a few.
The project is all run through referrals, therefore we work closely with all partnering agencies across the county to ensure those in need are given the basics to help them survive at whatever stage they are at in their lives.
Jon Calloran, Managing Director at Hudson Kapel, confirms: “We are absolutely delighted to be supporting Maggs in 2024. As a new business we wanted to support a local charity and as soon as we heard about the fantastic work that Maggs undertakes helping the homeless and vulnerable in the Worcester area we were keen to be involved. Although only a few months in we really look forward to being part of the Maggs team over the coming year.”
