Maggs is pleased to welcome Jon Perry as our new Chief Executive Officer.

Jon joins Maggs with extensive leadership experience across homelessness, housing, and drug and alcohol services. Throughout his career, he has championed partnership working, believing that the best outcomes are achieved when organisations work together to support people facing complex challenges.

He takes up the role following a carefully planned leadership transition, with Dr Nia D Thomas concluding her time as Interim Chief Executive after leading the organisation through an important period of stability and change. Working alongside the Board of Trustees, staff, volunteers and partners, Nia has helped ensure a seamless handover, allowing Maggs to remain firmly focused on delivering high-quality support to people experiencing homelessness and hardship across Worcestershire.

As Jon begins his role, he will spend time meeting staff, volunteers, partners and the people who access Maggs’ services, listening and learning as he builds on the charity’s strong foundations and helps shape its future.

Jane Kemp, Chair of Trustees, said:

“On behalf of the Board of Trustees, I am delighted to welcome Jon Perry as Chief Executive of Maggs. Jon brings valuable experience across homelessness and drug and alcohol services, together with a strong commitment to partnership working and improving outcomes for the people we support.

I would also like to thank Dr Nia D Thomas for her leadership throughout this important period of transition. Her dedication has ensured continuity, stability and a strong foundation for Jon as he takes on the role. I know he will receive a warm welcome from our staff, volunteers, partners and supporters as we continue building on that foundation together.”

Dr Nia D Thomas said:

“I am very pleased to have served as Interim Chief Executive of Maggs during this important period. Working alongside such dedicated staff, volunteers, trustees and partners has reinforced what makes Maggs so special – the compassion, respect and commitment shown every day to people experiencing homelessness and hardship.

I am proud to hand over to Jon knowing the organisation is well placed for the future, and I wish him every success as he leads Maggs into its next chapter.”

Jon Perry said:

“I am delighted to be joining Maggs and to have the opportunity to work alongside such a dedicated and experienced team. Throughout my career, I have seen the difference that strong partnerships can make, and I look forward to building on the excellent relationships Maggs has developed across Worcestershire.

Over the coming weeks, I am looking forward to meeting staff, volunteers, partners and the people who use our services. By listening, learning and working together, I hope we can continue to strengthen our services and ensure that everyone who turns to Maggs for support is treated with dignity, understanding and compassion.”

For more than 40 years, Maggs has supported people experiencing homelessness and multiple disadvantage across Worcestershire, providing practical support, advice, advocacy and opportunities to move forward. While leadership may change, our purpose remains the same: working alongside individuals, communities and partners to ensure that everyone has access to the support they need when they need it most.

As we begin this new chapter, we look forward to continuing that work together with our staff, volunteers, trustees, partners, funders and supporters, building on the strong foundations already in place and remaining committed to the people at the heart of everything we do.
