We were delighted to welcome the team from Balens Ltd to our Allotment Project recently, where they spent the day volunteering alongside our staff to help prepare the space for the growing season ahead.

From morning through to late afternoon, the team worked incredibly hard — bringing energy, enthusiasm and a real sense of teamwork to the day. Thanks to their efforts, the allotment has been transformed and is now ready as we begin planting produce that will support people accessing our services.

Our Allotment Project plays an important role in our wider work across Worcestershire, providing not only fresh produce for our day centres and hubs, but also a space for wellbeing, connection and recovery.

Corporate volunteering days like this make a genuine difference. They allow us to develop and maintain spaces like the allotment, while also building meaningful relationships with local businesses who want to give back to their community.

The timing couldn’t have been better — with everything starting to grow in spring, the extra hands made a real difference. It’s not just the practical help either; having people come in with such positive energy really lifted everyone’s morale.

We’re incredibly grateful to Balens for choosing to support us in this way, and we’re thrilled to be continuing the partnership as we look ahead to welcoming their team to our Redditch Hub next month.

If you’re part of a local business and would like to support Maggs through volunteering, fundraising or partnership opportunities, we’d love to hear from you.
