We’re delighted to announce a new community partnership with the newly opened Cornish Bakery, Worcester, who have pledged to donate their end-of-day fresh produce to our Worcester Day Centre for the foreseeable future.
From today, their unsold pastries, breads and savouries will be collected and served to people who visit our Day Centre — offering something warm, tasty and comforting alongside the practical support our team provides every day.
“This partnership is simple but powerful: great food that might otherwise go to waste will now go straight to people who need it,” said Melissa, our Fundraising, Communications & Relationships Manager. “We’re thrilled to welcome Cornish Bakery Worcester to the city and incredibly grateful for their commitment to our community. Their shop looks fantastic, the bakes are amazing, and we can’t wait to share them with our service users.”
Cornish Bakery Worcester officially opened its doors today and has already made community support part of its everyday routine.
Why this matters
- Good food, less waste: Quality baked goods will be enjoyed the same day or the following morning at our Day Centre.
- Dignity and welcome: A warm pastry or fresh bread roll can help someone feel seen, cared for and ready to engage with support.
- Community in action: Local businesses play a crucial role in ensuring no one is left behind.
How you can help
- If you’re a local business with surplus food or essentials, we’d love to hear from you about regular or ad-hoc donations.
- Individuals can support by donating funds, clothing, or volunteering time at our Clothing Project and Day Centres.
Thank you, Cornish Bakery Worcester — and welcome to the neighbourhood. Here’s to many trays of goodness shared, many conversations started, and many lives moved a step forward.
