Community & Recovery

Supporting long-term change

Recovery is not a single step — it’s a journey.

We work alongside individuals over time to:

  • Build routines and structure
  • Develop independence
  • Reconnect with interests and goals
  • Strengthen support networks
  • Maintain progress made through housing and health support

Our approach is flexible and person-centred, recognising that progress looks different for everyone.

Our Services

The Allotment Project

Our Allotment Project provides a calm, supportive space where individuals can engage in meaningful activity. Through gardening and outdoor work, people can improve their wellbeing, build routine and responsibility, learn new skills, and connect with others.

The project supports both mental health and confidence, creating a positive environment for recovery.

For individuals in our supported housing, recovery support continues beyond initial placement. We provide ongoing one-to-one support to help people maintain their tenancy, build independence, work towards personal goals, and move forward at their own pace.

"Recovery is about rebuilding more than housing.”

When James first accessed support from Maggs, he was rough sleeping, alcohol dependent, and facing significant challenges with both his physical health and involvement with the criminal justice system.

Over time, Maggs worked alongside James to help him engage with substance misuse services, mental health support and accommodation options, while also supporting him to address the underlying issues affecting his life.

As his confidence and stability grew, James began volunteering within the local community and building positive routines and relationships.

Following the birth of his son, James remained committed to making long-term changes in his life. Through continued engagement with support services and consistent determination, he was later able to begin a reunification plan with his child.

Maggs continues to support James as he moves forward into a more stable and independent future.

Heart of Worcestershire College Partnership

We’re proud to work in partnership with the SEN department at Heart of Worcestershire College, where students prepare and deliver weekly lunches for our Worcester Day Centre every Thursday during term time.

Meals are created using donated food and supplies, including items we’ve been able to set aside through our wider support and contributions from funders — ensuring resources are used meaningfully to benefit the community.

Together, we create a welcoming space where people can come together, share a meal and connect.

For students, this provides valuable real-world experience, confidence-building and a sense of purpose. For the people we support, it offers more than just a meal — it’s an opportunity to build connections, feel valued and be part of the wider community.
