OUR IMPACT
REAL PEOPLE. REAL IMPACT.
These figures highlight the breadth and effectiveness of our services, capturing how targeted support can lead to meaningful outcomes. Each data point represents a strategic intervention — from basic needs like meals and clothing to long-term support such as housing assistance, healthcare access, and casework.
Together, they demonstrate our continued role in reducing crisis, promoting stability, and delivering measurable results across Worcestershire.
“I came to Worcester sleeping in a garage after losing my job. I’ve been in care most of my life and, as an adult, I really struggled without that structure — turning to substances as a way to cope. I can’t manage an independent tenancy, but with Maggs' support, I’ve been able to stay in social housing. They help me stay on track.
Maggs has become the support system I don’t have elsewhere. I like to talk things through before making decisions, and they’re always there to listen. Life is a challenge for me — things like managing bills or understanding letters can feel overwhelming. Maggs helps me work through it all, without judgement.
They never make me feel bad for my mistakes. I’m always welcomed, and no matter how frustrating or difficult the issue is, I know I can bring it to them and we’ll face it together.
I don’t always access everything Maggs offers, but that one-to-one support from the workers — that’s the best part of this charity. They really are the reason I’m still going.”

Jay*'s Story
Jay was sleeping rough in a park after being evicted due to mental health challenges and a history of convictions. Struggling with alcohol dependency and unmanaged mental health conditions, he was disconnected from support and experiencing regular seizures.
Through consistent support from his Maggs ITT worker, Jay has begun engaging with alcohol, medical, and mental health services—including regular sessions with a city outreach psychologist. Maggs also helped him reconnect with legal services, access food, secure and sustain housing, and prepare for fatherhood with support from social services.
Despite setbacks, Jay now has a more stable routine and says Maggs is the one organisation that’s stood by him, holding him accountable and giving him hope for a more positive future.
OUR IMPACT
HEALTH & WELLBEING
We believe health is a human right — not a privilege. From GP registrations and mental health referrals to access to nurses, dentists, and harm reduction services, we bring vital care directly to those who are often forgotten by the system. By meeting people where they are, we help remove barriers, rebuild trust, and support every step toward healing and hope.
OUR IMPACT
CLOTHING & DIGNITY
This year, 826 individuals accessed support through our Clothing Project — each one receiving more than just warm, dry clothes. They were met with dignity.
For someone sleeping rough or without access to clean clothing, having the right layers means more than physical comfort — it means visibility, self-worth, and the reassurance that someone cares. Every coat, jumper, and pair of shoes is a small but powerful step toward restoring confidence and hope.
OUR IMPACT
OUTREACH & HARM REDUCTION
Our Outreach Team made 4,652 contact visits across the county, meeting people where they are and building trust over time.
These visits are often the first step in forming a relationship that can lead to life-saving support—whether it’s help with harm reduction, housing, or simply being treated with respect. By going out into the community, we reach those who might never come to us, offering care on their terms, when and where they need it most.
OUR IMPACT
HOLISTIC CASEWORK
Our approach to casework is rooted in compassion, consistency, and the understanding that every individual’s journey is complex. We offer holistic support that goes beyond quick fixes—addressing not just immediate needs like housing or food, but also the deeper challenges people face, such as trauma, addiction, mental health, and social isolation.
Our team builds trust over time, helping individuals navigate systems, access the right services, and feel empowered to take control of their lives. It works because it’s personal, patient, and persistent—support that adapts to people, not the other way around.
Maggs has been a lifeline — one of the best homelessness charities I’ve come across in the country. I first connected with them at their Malvern Day Centre, where they helped me with food, clothes, a shower, a SIM card, and sorting out my benefits. Later, in Worcester, they even managed to open a bank account for me, despite me having no ID.
As a trans woman, I’ve experienced bullying, transphobia, and violence while sleeping rough. But at Maggs, I feel safe, cared for, and accepted. The Clothing Project stands out — there’s no judgement, just kindness. One of the jackets they helped me choose kept me warm throughout the entire winter.
What I value most are the relationships I’ve built with the staff and volunteers. They’re genuinely kind, generous, and have made me feel part of a community — we even call ourselves ‘the Maggsters.

Kevin's Journey
Kevin first came into contact with Maggs in 2019 while living in a tent and reluctant to engage. Through the persistence and compassion of our Outreach team, he eventually accepted support in the form of a mobile phone and help setting up a bank account so his benefits could be paid directly to him. Struggling with substance use and mental health issues, Kevin was soon placed into emergency accommodation and later offered a room in one of our supported properties, where he began to open up about his challenges with alcohol and self-harm. With the right encouragement, he agreed to engage with services like Cranstoun and his GP, and found a sense of routine and enjoyment through activities like cooking, gardening, and bike rides.
While Kevin’s journey has not been without setbacks—including self-harming and tenancy risks—he has gradually developed coping strategies, engaged with a multi-disciplinary support team, and begun to value psychological interventions. After a turning point at a Tenancy Eviction Panel, Kevin recommitted to his recovery, attending more support services and bidding for independent accommodation. Most powerfully, he has now gone over nine months without self-harming and has started transforming his scars into meaningful tattoos, symbolising the progress he’s made. Kevin’s story is ongoing—but it is filled with resilience, growth, and hope.

The Power of People: Volunteer Impact
Maggs simply couldn’t do what we do without our volunteers. Every day, individuals give their time, energy, and compassion to support our work — from preparing breakfasts and sorting clothing to offering a listening ear and helping at events.
Each contribution represents more than just time; it brings consistency, connection, and care. Our volunteers are the heartbeat of Maggs, creating moments of dignity, warmth, and humanity for those who need it most.
This year alone, our volunteers have given us:
This work doesn't happen in isolation. Together, we make this possible.
From volunteers and fundraisers to corporate partners and donors – you are a vital part of this impact.
Let’s keep going. Let’s do more. Together.
