Our Ambassadors are committed to raising awareness of homelessness and vulnerable people throughout the county. You will be contacted as appropriate and offered the opportunity to attend events as a representative of Maggs. This is a flexible role to suit your availability which requires a minimum of 12 months commitment.

A Maggs Volunteer Ambassador is a key role in helping to boost our profile and give inspiring talks to help businesses, community groups and schools understand more about homelessness. You will become an essential part of our promotion strategy and make a valuable difference to spreading the Maggs’ name.

We warmly welcome applicants from black, minority, ethnic (BME) communities, disabled people and lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans (LGBT) communities, as they are currently under represented within our workforce – this diversity is vital to our journey and is fundamental to our values and enriches the service we offer the people we work with.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Attending invited events, such as community/social group meetings, school assemblies and cheque presentations.
• To give presentations/talk about the work of Maggs and the difference that we are making to the homeless community throughout the County.
• To inspire people to support us through fundraising, or to thank supports for the fundraising they have completed.
• To represent the charity in a professional and friendly manner.
• Maintaining our charities’ ethos.
• Making conversation with members of the public as appropriate and answering questions about the charity.
• Be confident in public speaking.
• Where possible promote Maggs to potential supporters/fundraisers.
• To signpost potential clients to the charity who are eligible for support, make them aware of our existence and understand what we do and how to access our services.
• To support the Marketing & Relations Manager and the Fundraising Manager in events when appropriate.
• To participate in regular updates and training sessions as appropriate and to attend group support sessions volunteer induction training.
• To be willing to participate in photo opportunities when representing Maggs.
