We're looking for volunteers to support the running of our Help Hub and wider afternoon programme at Worcester Day Centre, providing a friendly and accessible first point of support for people who need straightforward practical assistance, information or help with everyday tasks, alongside supporting agreed activities that promote wellbeing, confidence, connection and engagement.

Location: Worcester Day Centre, St Alban’s, Deansway, Worcester WR1 2JD
Hours of Work: Flexible – agreed volunteer sessions during Worcester Day Centre opening hours
Contract Type: Voluntary

Main Purpose of the Role

The Help Hub is intended to provide a welcoming, volunteer-led space where people can ask quick questions and receive appropriate practical help without needing a full support appointment.

As part of the developing afternoon offer, volunteers may also support or help facilitate a range of planned activities and wellbeing opportunities. These will be shaped by service-user interests, volunteer skills and availability, and may include activities such as arts and crafts, games, hairdressing or personal care sessions, yoga or gentle wellbeing activities, creative sessions, social activities and other agreed group activities.

Volunteers will work within clear boundaries and alongside Maggs staff, providing practical assistance and activity support while recognising when an enquiry, concern or situation needs to be passed to a member of the support team.

This is a flexible volunteer role and there is no expectation that every volunteer will undertake every aspect of it. Volunteer involvement will be agreed based on individual skills, interests, confidence, experience and availability, alongside the needs of the service. Some volunteers may primarily support the Help Hub, while others may be more involved in activities or wellbeing sessions, and some may support a mixture of both.
