Maggs – A Lasting Influence!

By 4th November 2017 Staff's stories, Volunteering

It is always nice to hear about the impact Maggs has had on individuals, whether this be service users, volunteers or staff. Check out the email we received last week from Phil.

My name is Phil Hodgson and I am a psychotherapist who once did a little work at Maggs, about eight years ago.

Today I work with the homeless and at risk of homeless in Greater Toronto, Canada. I supervise a team of sixteen staff who do outreach, housing support, counselling and advocacy.

Today I am at a conference on homelessness in Winnipeg (Canadian Alliance to End Homelessness) and we were discussing how we got into the field of working with homelessness.

It struck me that without my Maggs experience and its influence, I would never have chosen this direction of work which has changed my life and impacted hugely on my working model.

As I was thinking of Maggs I just wanted to send you an email saying thank you and wish the organization well.

Thank you with deep respect and gratitude
