Maggs Day Centre
The Day Centre itself is at the core of the work we do. For our clients, Maggs represents a safe, non-judgmental and welcoming place in which they can take refuge from some of the difficult daily challenges of survival on the streets or at the margins of society. The staff of the day centre:
- Signpost - and, if necessary accompany those who wish, to other agencies for help with ill health, personal problems, drug or alcohol related problems etc, through counselling and treatment
- Guide - people through the health, welfare and benefits system maze and act as advocates on their behalf
- Encourage - those who wish to consider positive changes to their way of life
- Work with - those who wish to find a permanent home, a job and a new place in the community
- Support - people resettled in the community who request it
- Shelter - those who at present, are unable or unwilling to consider a change in their lifestyle
