Today (04/02/20) was the opening of the new Maggs Day Centre Malvern, based at the Salvation Army in Malvern, providing support and humanitarian relief for the homeless and socially isolated.
We will be open on a Tuesday and Friday between 8 and 1, and will provide cooked breafast and lunch. Today, the team made bacon sandwiches for breakfast and bangers and mash for lunch. Food will kindly be donated by Malvern Foodbank, the first delivery of which was made today
Within the day centre homeless individuals will be able to access showers and laundry facilities, having access to toiletries and clean underwear, providing Maggs Clothing Project Referrals when more items are needed.
We will be staffed both by 2 dedicated centre staff members and also in partnership with the MOATS team and a CCP worker.
Staff will be on hand to identify support needs and encourage access to wider agencies, whether this is on site through drop ins or in the community through signposting or referrals. Infact, we had a visiit from YSS Remember Veterans key worker Lisa today and look forward to welcoming many more community partners over coming weeks. Access will be given to free Wi-Fi during opening hours to allow people to connect with services online.
The team look forward to building the services Maggs Day Centre Malvern are able to offer and welcoming all who need our support! Thank you to everybody who has helped the scheme get this far, we couldn’t have done it without you!
